In my quest to replace my leaking dripless shaft seal I have made it to the point where I need to remove the prop shaft coupler.

I have removed the vdrive to get better access. I have the nut off but am struggling hard to remove the coupler.

Here is my latest attempt:

I put a prop nut back on the shaft to help center the puller. Then I used a steering wheel puller. I also used penetrating oil and wd40. When all of this failed I heated it up with a heat gun too. Still no luck.

In the end I ruined the threads on the steering wheel puller :(.

Any other suggestions? Am I missing something?

So it seems I wasn’t missing anything, just needed more force.
I reinstalled the vdrive temporarily and used the output flange as a press. I threaded an old prop nut on to the prop shaft half way. Then put a 10mm socket between the flanges and bought some longer 3/8 bolts to clamp the surfaces together and finally press out the shaft.

I don't need this yet, but when my 2014 A22 needs it, I will be so glad you shared this!
