Post subject:  Axis interior speakers not working

I recently bought an axis A22 2013 boat and the interior alpine speakers and subwoofer have recently stopped working. The tower speakers still work but they will cut out if the stereo is turned up louder than 24 volume. Also, the sony stereo gets really hot to touch underneath it when only just turning the boat on. I have replaced the green 30 fuse in the amp but still the speakers will not work. I do not know much about sound systems so any help as to what could be the problem would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

Is the amp powering on? If I remember, they have a blue light that illuminates when it's receiving power. If it's not, check the signal wire from the ignition to the amp; usually a <22/24 guage wire... typically blue/yellow.

If you are getting power at the amp.... Check the RCA cable connections first... they wiggle loose... then I would get a meter and check the outputs on the amps to see if you are getting signal (in & out). that will tell you where the problem is (head unit vs. amp).

I also have issue once you turn volume up it cuts off except tower speakers, 2013 a22, I thought it was the aux cord plug in but that's not issue. Just one song from towing to dealer

I have the same mix of problems in my 2010 A22.

1) 3 of my 6 RCAs are dead...each died over the last few years. Looks like they will be challenging to pull new wires.
2) My sony left RCA outputs died also get hot on heat sink. Replaced with Fusion RA-70. *Requires a trim piece to cover old holes.
3) Tower Amps cutting out has always normal. At least with my MTX. I have tuned the gain levels to prevent, but still be loud enough to hear at 50'

Good luck!
