Post subject:  Which Prop?
Im getting ready to order a 2017 T22. I was going to go with the Acme 2013 prop, but was on a friends new T23 and it seemed to run at a high RPM when just cruising. Does anyone know if the upgraded prop is needed now that it comes standard with the 410 hp engine? We mainly wakeboard, but surf as well.

From what I have read on this forum, unless you are at a high elevation and/or surf with a ton of ballast the majority of the time, the stock 2249 prop is the way to go with the 410 engine. I called ACME and spoke to an engineer and he equated the 2313 torque prop with driving around in 1st gear. He said the 2249 is like 2nd gear and that we'd get plenty of pull from the prop and lower our RPMs at cruising speeds compared to the 2313.

In another thread I have asked what RPMs people are seeing with the 410 and 2249 prop at various speeds and weights to compare. I am seeing 3600-3700 RPMs at 20-22 MPH with a normal load in the boat.

So what's the gear ratio on the L96 engine nowadays, 1.48 or 1.72? That will greatly affect what prop(s) should be recommended

I thought they didn't make the 2249 anymore?

My 15' A24 came with the 2249 on it. I didn't order it but bought it from dealer stock as new. 350 motor.

FWIW, I originally thought about upgrading to the 2315 (had it before and it was a tractor), but the longer I ran the 2249, I realized there was no need. It did everything I needed it to.

I'm at about 650' above sea level.

Same with my 15 but when I tried to order another I was told they did not make it anymore.

Just buy the prop closest to what you want and have it re-tuned for $100
