I didn't like this head unit to begin with as it doesn't have Bluetooth stream unless you get an aftermarket adapter. I have the aftermarket adapter and it will only stream when the engine is on. When I switch the key to accessories, it won't stream. I'm guessing because the adapter is wired to get power when the engine is on. The boat came with this adapter, so I didn't wire it up.

With this being said, has anyone found a Sony head unit that will work with the existing transom remote so I don't have to also replace it?

Thanks in advance.

John

Dude. What a waste that Bluetooth adapter is a waste. I hooked mine up once and was way less than impressed. Best advice, Leave a phone/iPod hooked up to the usb plug

my Bluetooth always worked when key is on (I recently switched to an Exile ZLD with Bluetooth)... Is yours hooked up to the factory Bluetooth plug?

The Bluetooth works with the key in the "on" position, but don't want the engine hours to be adding up. If the Bluetooth would work when it was on the accessories position, that would be great. The Bluetooth adapter is hooked up to the auxiliary port on the back of the head unit.

Mine works in accessories position. There is a 2 wire plug that goes into the bluetooth from the boat (not the rca cables that go to the stereo) these two are power and ground to turn bluetooth on. If yours is hooked up to this plug than you could easily switch the power line to accessories but like I said mine was that way from the factory. Is your stereo on while in accessory position?

If you are in the Seattle area I could easily wire it for you...

Thanks for the offer, I'm in Kansas City.

The radio works just fine in the accessories position, it just won't stream Bluetooth...I'll look at the wires when I bring the boat home. Thanks for the advice.

You could easily take the hot lead of the bluetooth and tap it into the power wire for the head unit. Should take all of 5 minutes.

I suggest adding a toggle switch from bakes.com with a music not icon that powers your stereo and bluetooth. It's annoying to have bluetooth repairing every time you turn off the engine (and you should turn off the engine when switching riders)
