That seems weird... I have the 350 and have no issues with that weight and then some... still has room to go up in speed?

The 410hp 6L has a 1.48:1 transmission ratio vs the 1.72:1 ratio in the 350hp & 450hp boats. If you keep all else the same (prop, air/water temps, humidity, elevation, fuel...etc) the 350/450's will have far more torque. Now you could prop the 410 to get your more torque for the difference in VeeDrive ratios.

I've been playing around a lot more with it lately. Moving someone to the front seems to help a great deal. The boat can then go a half mile an hour faster which cleans up the wake very nicely. Even a nice curl on it. That's at 5500 feet, 900s full, with the 650 full in the front and all the hard tanks full.

Maybe I just didn't have enough front ballast for how much I had in the rear.

I agree that ~ 11.8 seems to be the sweet spot for that amount of ballast.
