Have you tested to see if it actually holds more water than the fly high sack?

Last weekend I finally installed all my ballast bags , the new prop on, and got the wake tweaked so I figured I'd post how my set up turned out.

Here's the end result:

Wakeboarding
Wake Ballast set up for my A20 is the 800lbs of factory hard tanks, 2x 600lbs Sumo sacs in the rear lockers, the 950lbs sumo arrow sac under the bow and a 500lbs fatsac on top of the bow seat, wedge up.

I was going about 22.4 mph with 3 people in the boat and it's curling right around 70' back, this thing is a monster!

Surf Ballast set up is the surf side hard tank and surf side 600lbs Sumo sac in the rear full, the 950lbs sumo arrow sac in the Bow 3/4 full, 500lbs fatsac on top of the rear surf side bench seat, and wedge down. I had two people in the boat and was cruising at about 11.5, I'm still playing around with the weight for surfing and few more people in the boat couldn't hurt but it was still a great surf wave.

I ended up going with Johnny’s suggestion and getting all sumo sacs, and I'm glad I did.

I've never had any of the flyhighs bags so I can't compare the two but the Sumos fit in the rear compartments and under the bow perfectly, no real pressure point to worry about that I can see and with the 600s there is no need to re-enforce anything (which is something I didn't want to mess with). Also I really like the "Quick Link Valve" fixture on the Sumos, it's awesome for burping the bags and since the ports are all 1" I was able to up the size of the hose that gravity drains the rear sacs to hard tanks on my '12 from 3/4" to 1" very easily which really seems to help drain faster, I don't have to wait for the sac to catch up to the pump like I've heard some people complain about. Here's the thread on it viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1688&start=10

I have the AR335 engine and went with the Acme 1235 prop, it has zero trouble getting the boat up and going with the almost 3500lbs of sacs plus a few people, I'm super happy with its fuel economy, and didn't seem to lose too much top end either.

Thanks again to everyone for their advice much appreciated!

I have ridden your boat with that exact set up, no wedge. It is absolutely money. So impressive with all that weight you can still ride clean at 70 at 22 mph. I love Axis wakes.

With your configuration, you will notice that adding a few more friends, 160 lbs + each, your wake size will increase tremendously. You are at the point of great return, every lbs you add will make a difference.

If your boat is full of people, with that weight and the 1235, you may need to dump a little rear ballast to get up to plane... you are getting close to maxing that prop out. No worries if you do, thats what I do... pain to remember sometimes, but the wake is worth it.

congrats, you have a sick wake

Has anyone tried the Sumo V900 sacs to see how they fit in the Axis lockers? If so, any pics?

Did you reinforce the side walls for the 900? Happy how the 900 fits? Lockers the same size on the A20 vs A22?

I'll be reinforcing the walls. I've used the 900s for a week and the force was sufficient to push the divider out of its track on one side.

Anyone have a picture of how the 600 fits into the locker. I was all set to order the 900's but not interested in reinforcing the side walls if the 600 will work fine.

So I have factory set up with 950 front bow sac. 750 left rear sac. With wake plate down and wife two kids, girls don't weigh more than 200 -225 both of them riding on left side. Still can't tune that wake in.

I also fill the center tank and don't use the wedge. Looks like maybe you are a little too slow too.
