Like the vinyl option. Wonder what the price is going to be with some 'have to have' options.

It's expensive, I was speccing one out the other day....I wonder what the heck happened to the $39,995 base MSRP when they launched in 2009 :(

Seems like the base 2013 A22 MSRP is about 10 to 12 grand beyond that now. Is this because they've bumped up their quality? Inflation can only be responsible for a small piece of that hike.

Remember when it launched in 2009 there were all the vendor logo's all over it - I wonder if that knocked the price down some initially. I'd like an option to add sponsor logos for a $2500 discount. Malibu may have accepted less profit % to gain market initially. ALSO - CATs are now required for all boats and I think that alone is a $2k uplift.

That's a good point, but it still means they're entering a price range where it's making it more difficult for people to afford. By the time you put options you want on it, it's almost the same price as buying a slightly used 2008 SAN 210, or a SAN 230 even, and you're not taking the immediate depreciation hit by buying new....ugh. :(

I am not sure you could ever get a new one for 40k. At least in california. CATs were mandatory at that time and dealer fees brought the price up past that. If you have a product that someone wants and have limited inventory due to resources available. The price will go up. These boats are popular and supported by a respected Brand (malibu). As long as consumers are willing to pay the price, it will continue to rise. if Axis would have launched this brand at the market value it would have failed.
