What are you guys talking about with muffler removal? I installed the FAE on my '16 A20, with some help from the FAE guy over the phone (he answered the phone on a Saturday!), and all I removed was the rubber flapper on the exhaust outlet. Also as for "mileage" do you really think there's any difference? |

I removed the muffler on my 2010 a22 with FAE and couldn’t really tell much of a power increase, it did free up a bunch of space so that changing the impeller will be super simple, fuel consumption seems a small amount better but I’ve only had it out once, I’ll have more when I hit the water a few more times. |

I just ordered 2 of each bend pipe 45deg and 90deg from jegs in stainless steel, 3.5”, then I started fitting them up with the muffler removed, had to cut about 3” off each pipe then expand the end for a slip fit, weld it up and use the expander to put a little bump on the end so the hose doesn’t slip out, I have an exhaust tubing machine so that made it easy to do. Went to a local hose shop and picked up a few feet of silicon hose and ended up cutting to 5” for each end, probably have about 200$ in the whole thing |
