Post subject:  2015 T23 - Service Engine & Low Oil Pressure Warning

I have a 2015 T23 with 60 hours on it and last weekend it gave me a Service Immediately warning with an audible beat that would repeat after a few minutes of muting it. This started after a 30 min ride, parked, and then when we restarted it, it immediately gave the warning and the engine light with "MIL" was lit. What does that mean?

Then the next day we restarted it and it gave a low oil pressure warning and the oil psi gauge was jumping around all over the place at idle and under throttle. From 0, 8, 30, 50, then it would peg out and hold at 134.

All this time the engine ran fine, never a hiccup. It has fresh oil, to the proper level. Any ideas on whats going on?

No clue why but my 2017 has done some dumb stuff to. Usually turning off and restarting cures the issues. You can also try disconnecting batterys and letting the whole system reset. If the issue comes back then id call your dealer.

Could be as simple as a bad sensor. Need to get a dealer on it.

Would this be throwing a code that they could get with a code reader?

Yes. It will show up in the Diacom history. They can monitor live oil pressure as well.

What type of code reader could I buy to check it? Is there an Amazon type one available? We're a long ways from our nearest dealer.

Nope.

Diacom is the only thing you can check it with.

What's the difference between the "MIL" engine light and the "CHECK" engine light?

Also where is the oil pressure sending unit located at?

Put a new sending sensor on it. Started it up and it still had the MIL engine light on with an Audible beep. Oil pressure read 50psi at idle and after a few minutes dropped to 40. Then it started bouncing around and pegged at 134 and gave the low oil pressure warning. So the new sensor did nothing.

What is the MIL dash light compared to the regular CHECK dash light?

What else should I check? Closest dealer is 150 miles away.
