thank you for all the reply's. Really appreciate the forum. I posted this and was concerned, and then took the boat out again. We had a great time all day. Headed back in to the dock, going about 35, i took my hand off the wheel and the boat did it again, I wasn't prepared and the boat pitched sideways, to the left. It sent my wife, who was sitting across from me, head first in to the steering column. The boat took a sudden violent turn. My wife received 10 stitches above her eye and a concussion. It happened so fast none of us expected anything like that ever! The dealer came out and was very apologetic, adjusting the tab on the rudder. It still steers to the left but its much less violent. Weird how some peoples boat steers straight, and others say this is common. Need to really get to the bottom of it! Thanks again! I will keep everyone posted!

Man, hate to hear that!

If you knew the boat pulled to the side already why in the heck did you take your hand off the wheel?

well, we were out there all day, didn't have a problem. It happens at different speeds, the faster, the worse it is. It turned left in an instant. Before this, it was a slow progression, then it would catch. There was no slow progression. It happened too fast.

35ish MPH isn't slow. Should have kept your hands on the wheel.

When my boat is moving at least one hand is on the wheel at all times.

Do you have the double Gorilla Fins in front?

I do on an A22 and it generally pulls left, but I have never let go for long enough for it to take off hard left. but it needs a knee or hand on it pretty much all the time. Because the surf Gate pulls so hard, I almost don't notice the higher speed turning.

I wonder if the 2 fins help to keep the boat from rotating about its center.

This. I rarely get my boat above 30mph. Hand/knee never leaves the wheel.

Some boats have power steering which makes it easier for driving (not that it is hard) but the Axis doesn't. From my boat driving experience and pulling riders, I prefer no power steering. I get a better feel without it while pulling a rider.

Sounds like something is going on if the boat steering isn't consistent. My A24 steers perfectly, it tracks straight and I only need a light hand or a few fingers on the wheel.
