The Monsoon manual says minimum octane rating of 87, but my dealer told me to always use premium fuel. My old Malibu always ran great on regular gas, so I'm wondering if premium is always necessary?

I've got a 2015 T23 with the 409. It certainly isn't mandatory to put premium fuel in it. On the water, I can only buy 87 and it runs fine on that. That said, my gas sits sometimes for weeks or even months either in the boat or in jerry cans. So when I'm at the gas station, I buy premium and put fuel stabilizer in it. So there is pretty much always fuel stabilizer in my fuel tank. Even if I'm buying 87 at the lake, there is still probably 1/4-1/2 a tank of 91 still in there, so I probably run no less than 89 most of the time.

Do I need it? I doubt it.

I wouldn't trust your salesperson if you have the 350 motor and he said use premium.

I see people saying the octane they run in their boat...as in their T23, A24, or A22. However, it matters what engine you are running, not the boat.

All the new axis engines say 87 in the Manuel I believe.
