It is 17lbs of aluminum. It is heavy. You will definitely be able to modify it as needed. The aluminium is about .25 inch thick.

I get it but can you offset the holes an inch... in either the base or the riser.

The only issue I found with the riser is if you like to ride with the seat full forward you can't engage reverse fully. Slide the seat back and you're good to go.If you are going to offset the seat keep that in mind so you give yourself clearance for the throttle regardless of where the seat is positioned.

Do you actually ride with the seat all the way forward? If so, wow. I haven't moved mine from the fully back position since I have owned the boat two years ago.

Does the riser fit a '12 model? I'm pretty sure my base is different than the ones in the pics.

The '12 version is different and he sells a Malibu riser on eBay for it but not sure if axis version is available in this group buy.
