I have a 2013 axis a22 no surf gate. I have plug and play and for surfing I fill up the 750 in the left locker and the center hard tank, it's ride able but it could be better. Over the weekend I borrowed 2 200 pound fat sacs and put them on the surf side and it was a lot better. I'm going to order some but I'm not sure what to get and is there bags that don't bust water all over the place when I go to put the cap back on, like a valve or something built on to one? And when ever I put the wedge down it all turns to white water no curl or anything so I leave it up. Thanks

What speed are you going at? This year I sped up to around 11 and found that it helped a fair bit. Prior to using a do-it-yourself surfgate I was loading with 900 in the rear, center and front full plus another 700 on the seat behind the driver (we all surf goofy).

I'm using a fly-high bag so I get a bit of spill when disconnecting the pump but not much. Sumo bags have a spring loaded valve for their pump - http://www.boardstop.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=1449. You can get a check-valve for Fly-High bags as well - http://www.boardstop.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=2442

Some more info on loading the boat - http://www.axiswakeboardboats.com/viewt ... 717&p=9361

Get the Wicked Wake gate from Joe, http://wickedwakesurf.com/

I've been blown away by how well it works. Had a buddy out with me this weekend, his first time seeing it. He was blown away, as well. I run full hard tanks, full P&P sac in front as full as it'll go, and both 750's in the rear full. Wedge up (haven't tried it down).

I'm goofy, some friends are not, so the ease of switching is why I got them. But after having used them, the completely blow away what you can get with uneven weighting.

Agree with 67King. The wicked wave kit is legit. If you don't go that route, try a 370# tube sac or 400# bag on top of the surf side seat. You also need bow weight so fill the arrow bag at least.

Dave.mishchkeno I usually go 10.6 but I haven't tried 11 I will do though. And 67king I have heard that they aren't good for the boat and things like that I don't know if that's just the dealers trying to sell another boat or what.

Ask ANYONE who has used one what they think. I mean, sure, I'd rather have the factory system. But it isn't worth the 5 figures it would cost me to upgrade the whole boat.

I put mine together with scrap plywood and 2x6s last year. Mine is ugly and impacts low speed steering, but I got a much better surf wave and it beats having to list the boat to one side. I don't miss that aspect at all.

67king I looked on their site but I could see if they have one for a a22 that doesn't need drilling and uses a ratchet strap. I would rather not drill through my play form and I would probably mess something up to hahaha.

I attach mine with a ratchet strap:

Another angle of how it "hugs" the swim deck:

About $45 for the sheet of 3/4" HPDE plastic on ebay
